Build your online presence.
Social media is valuable for businesses of any size or industry and finding customers on social media has a direct impact on sales and your bottom line. Brands can grow exponentially if social media is used effectively, improving your online presence, and building your online reputation.
Social media provides you a stage to represent your brand’s image to the public. You can use it to:
- Increase the visibility of your business
- Share testimonials or completed projects (before and after)
- Announce sales or discounts
- Share the inside workings of your business and the people that make it all happen
- Use video – share your latest commercial or create a short video of how to use your product or service.
You want to engage with your social media audience, use it to express multiple facets of your business in a variety of ways. Building a strong reputation with potential customers give them a look into your company and helps to build trust.
Connect with a large audience.
Social media provides you a large audience to connect with and increases the visibility of your business. Offering yourself as a trusted resource is a great way to build your relationships with current, potential, and hard to reach customers. 81% of the U.S. population has at least one social media profile and over half have two or more giving you a high chance of reaching customers you may not have reached otherwise.
By interacting with your audience in a conversational manner you are opening dialogue. This allows you to address questions, concerns or acknowledge praise and gives your audience the opportunity to learn more about you. This in turn helps you learn about your customers building trust and providing excellent customer service.
Know what your customers are saying about you.
Social media also provides the ability for you to stay connected with your audience and monitor your online reputation. You can catch good and bad hearsay about your company and respond accordingly. Responding to all comments, good and bad is critical to managing your reputation.
Quickly responding to negative reviews or comments politely and sincerely is just as important. If you messed up, own up to it and offer to make it right. If the review is unjustified you may give your side, but again politely. This shows to potential customers that you take criticism well and respond to fix things, you are a reliable, trustworthy, and ethical company.
Happy customers will be active marketers for your business. Posting about a product or service they received from you and tagging your business putting your business with a positive testimony in front of all their friends. Make sure you respond (comment on that post), thanking them for their trust or nice comments. If they post a review on your social media, respond to those as well. Every interaction creates another chance to showcase your business in a positive manner.
